5 Tips to Beat the Heat at Work

Time to bust out the shorts and tank tops because summer is here to stay! Unfortunately, most offices don’t let you wear shorts and tank tops to work. So what do you do to keep cool at work? Every office is different, some are blistering hot and some are freezing cold, here a few tips to help keep cool at work.

Wear a Summer Dress
Not only will a dress keep you cool, but it makes you look totally put together. It’s perfect for the summer. Pair it with some strappy sandals and you are good to go!

Put away the heavy fabrics
Dark sweaters, heavy cardigans and thick pants have a place in office fashion during the fall and winter, but come summer it’s time to pack them away. Opt for light weight materials that will keep you cool all day.

Bring Water
We all know we need to drink lots of water year round, but in the summer you need to kick it up a notch. Meaning, the hotter it gets the more water you need to drink. A S’well bottle is great because it keeps your water for so long, definitely worth the price.

Keep a hair clip/hair tie handy
One thing that really helps keep my cool is getting the hair off my neck. If your office starts to get hot, throw your hair up in a ponytail or at least clip it back, trust me it will make a difference!

Keep a sweater at your desk
Sometimes the temperature can change from day to day in an office. You never really know what you are getting until you arrive at work. Keep a neutral colored sweater at your desk that you could throw on with any outfit.
